Wow! It’s been a while since my last post and loads has happened…
In golf, there are 3 new major champions…Henrick Stenson – “the best exponent of a 3 wood” – picked up the Claret Jug after going toe-to-toe with Lefty on the last day. They put on a golfing display that was jaw-dropping. Dustin Johnson finally got the monkey of his back and made his monster drives by winning the US Open and little known Jimmy Walker went wire to wire at the PGA Champs.
A bit closer to home and I shot a 72 (one over par on my par 71 course) for the first time. I followed that up with three sub 80 rounds. I hope this forms goes on for a while!
Other news, I am never flying British Airways again! Well, one more flight to spend all the loyalty miles I’ve accumulated and then never again. My golf bag was pilfered in transit and my newish pair of golf shoes nicked. It took them over 3 weeks (and multiple chases) to compensate me for just 50% of the value of the shoes. I’ll do a post on lost baggage and what to do…
I also spent two weeks in South Africa and got in about 10 rounds. As always, the courses in Johannesburg were awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed my little break back home.
The biggest news since my last post is that I am going to be a father…of twins!!! I’m counting down to the arrival of the two kids that are going to smash Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors and more importantly, I’m set with golf playing partners for life!
So, some big news and some not so big news. Hopefully the rest of this year will not be as hectic and I’ll get back to posting on the regular.
Always good to do a quick catch up 🙂
